On Day 1 of the Kavanaugh hearings at the Senate Judiciary Committee, something odd happened within the first 30 seconds of the hearing. I'm an expert in this topic, recognized by Google as the number one search result on this and a related topic. I'm not just bloviating. But don't take my word for it, you can test it for yourself. Go to YouBoob and pull up Day 1 confirmation hearing FULL of several justices. You won't see anything like what you hear within seconds of Day 1 of Kavanaugh. You hear a woman's voice. That woman is Kamala Harris.
Now, I'm a professor so I know you've forgotten this, and it's okay. Don't feel too badly, but it's important that you remember this. So I'm going to remind you about something that the entire country, not long ago, had on the tip of their tongues.
Kavanaugh was accused of sexual misconduct from high school. A famous quote of his was, if we're going to go by high school year books from now on, we've hit a new low. But that accusation was not known, according to Senator Diane Feinstein, on Day 1 or 2 or even 3 of the confirmation hearings. Senator Steinfine said that she had a confidential letter that she'd had, and only she'd known about, and only brought it out after all the obstruction and protests had interrupted the hearing for days and after dozens of arrests had been made of the insurrectionists in the audience.
That is to say, the interruption -- unprecedented in these kinds of proceedings -- within seconds of the hearing beginning by Kamala Harris working in concert with the insurrectionists in the Senate chamber (who were arrested and charged with obstructing an official proceeding) of Kavanaugh's hearing Day 1 had nothing to do with any credible sexual misconduct allegation.
They were after him for other reasons, from the start. From the word go.
What were those reasons ?
His Constitutional Statesmanship, as I showed in 450 pages, can be summarized as follows: Separation of Powers protects Individual Liberty, and therefore there is a moral arc , a natural law, to the Constitution as it designed the government structure and limitations. The Democrats don't want that design, Separation of Powers protecting individual liberty, to proceed. In fact, that design has taken some pretty serious , some nearly fatal hits in our history. The Republicans , Trump included, and you might say, especially, here, have an agenda to correct those mistakes as their progressive agenda (truly progressive), whereas the backwards "progressives" want to move forward with those mistakes, harming the country, the nation, and by extension the world, even further. Some don't comprehend it this way, but I think some do. In any case, the result is the same. This is what this election is in large part really about, whether voters see it for that right now or not. My guess is, most don't. And since Demcorats control the schools and the tech that people talk to each other on (and they control aspects of culture that degrade the quality of attention spans in conversation/education generally), most voters and their children won't understand this unless serious work is undertaken to correct those mistakes, as well.
