Clarity over Agreement

So I'm talking with a person here in So Cal who's a little unnerved by my views on American Politics (context: a hotel/pool). I'm a bit too dualistic, too "black and white." Are there any good Democrats? Any bad Republicans?

Oh sure , I said, with kindness and understanding in my eyes and tone of voice .

Let me offer the following distinction--where we move from descriptive to normative (I could tell this rich person did not know what "normative" meant, but was doing a hell of a job acting like he did--LOL).

A good Democrat acts like a Republican. And a bad Republican acts like a Democrat.
