I wasn’t born as the identity I currently have. I was born a pagan.
I began transitioning early in life.
My parents had me on pagan-blockers starting pretty young.
They worked okay, more or less. Eventually, I began to transition into the identity I have now in Christ.
I transitioned into a Christian.
I was not born a Christian. I’m a trans-Christian. But you can just call me a Christian. IT’S THE SAME THING as just being a Christian. So I don’t make that big a deal about it.
But, I do want to call attention to it politically because if we stick together, we can become powerful. Though you can and should expect opposition to this progress, to this power, and you will be discriminated against.
This is where I want to introduce the concept of intersectionality.
We’ll pause here for a brief message from our sponsors.
[Ever wanted to buy something ? Well that’s where we come in : Stores. Stores are where you can go and buy something. Do you need something ? Try a store . We have locations across the country, in every major city, and very well may have one pretty much in your own backyard. So get out there and try it. Find a store, and buy something today !]
Intersectionality
Now, about the time I fully transitioned into becoming a Christian with my new identity in Christ, leaving behind the pagan identity that I had as a kid, I realized I was transitioning into something else I wasn’t born into, a Republican.
As a Trans-Republican, I look back at the discrimination, confusion, hurt, anger, isolation, not getting invited to parties, and all the rest that came with rejecting the Democrat identity I was born into, as simply the cost of this new identity.
I personally feel that I’m just as Republican as people born Republican — IT’S THE SAME THING at the end of the day — hell, at the beginning of the day, too, and the middle — I’m a REAL REPUBLICAN — but we need to stick together , tell our stories, and make sure this material is taught in public schools for other young kids who want to Transition. They need our support.
Warmly,
Lucas J. Mather, Ph.D.
