Yes I know it’s Carmel, not Caramel. But I call it that anyway because I like to keep myself entertained.
This image is from Big Sur, a California State Park .
The ocean is a short walk away. We are surrounded by forest. And, the California State park rangers did this to keep us “safe.”
That’s a drinking fountain.
They didn’t want us to catch a certain virus from the water or the steel.
This is November 23, 2021, over a year and a half after they shut as much of the business world down as possible.
They were holding on as much as possible to the paranoia in Big Sur.
This area, if you don’t know, is overwhelmingly Democrat. And it makes me sad.
These two are from a year earlier exactly, 23 November 2020, in Caramel, California. They wanted you to wear a mask on the beach. As soon as the sun began to sit, people took the masks off. (I had mine off the whole time, already, or at least below my nose, and no one said anything). I guess the working theory for these Democrats on the Central Coast is that the virus is less dangerous at night.
I tell you what.
It’s these kinds of things that made me sick. Here’s the Fisherman’s Wharf in Monterey I published to Facebook on Thursday 26 November 2020 at 4:09 pm.
And this one, published same day, same time,

But this cheered me up. A walk through The American Tin Cannery, mostly empty now, compared to when I first moved to California in August of 1993, when LA had a Republican mayor, and when California had a Republican governor.
I like going to Pendleton, to First Awakenings (if you’re early enough), which has now moved to the old Carrow’s location, (Pendleton has now moved twice, from its original location on the east side lower level of American Tin Cannery to the west side facing Hopkins Marine Station of Stanford University (across the bike path), and now it’s a block away or so on Cannery Row.
Another favorite on Cannery Row is Ghiradelli. This is my order from November 2021, a year ago.
