The Historical Reliability of the Gospels
A Serious Biblical Scholar Sits Down with TRP to Talk History & The Bible
If you’re interested in digging in to the topic of History and The Bible from a serious, scholarly perspective, you may enjoy the hour-long conversation I just had with Dr. Craig Blomberg, Ph.D, Emeritus Distinguished Professor of New Testament at Denver Seminary where he taught for 37 years.
The books I mentioned are his monumental The Historical Reliability of the Gospels (IVP, 1987) and a book in which Dr. Blomberg wrote the first chapter, Jesus Under Fire, edited by Michael Wilkins and JP Moreland.
Dr. Blomberg has been a mentor to me for a long time. I first met him as a graduate student in 5 courses I took with him as a professor, and completed my first Masters thesis under him on an aspect of the Jewishness of the Gospel of Luke/Acts (both written by Luke).
Enjoy, and/or pass it on.
Have a great day !
