The Wrong Kind of Black Academic Defined
CATO Event Captures on Video: the Definition is Republican
Being on Time
Believing cause and effect are real
Believing that cost/benefit analyses need to consider costs and not just benefits.
Being suspicious of grade-inflation
Being concerned about character over appearances and victim-praising
These are some of the indications that, if you’re black, mean you might be a … Republican, or at least one who would tolerate Republicans or Republican culture on campus.
The wrong kind of academic, according to the group-non-think on most campuses, is anyone who leans Republican, or who encourages Republican culture on campus.
If you’re a black academic, and you want to do excellent work and encourage the same in administration and students and faculty, well, that’s … the wrong kind of black academic.
