I very much enjoyed this rare example of European superiority to American sensitivity. It doesn’t seem to happen very often where I’m impressed with Europe over America, but when it comes to education, sometimes the Brits are ahead of us. This is an example of standing up to parental stupidity. A lot of times kids stay dumb because the parents don’t force the kids to grow up. That might be because the parents themselves never did.
