Thoughts on the Anniversary of January 6th
What the Anti-Trump Security Experts Asked on January 7th, 2021 that Complements The Epoch Times Report
If you’re feeling discouraged, sad, if you feeling that you’re not sure if there’s hope for the future, if you’re feeling lonely, if you’re feeling disoriented, we’re glad that you’re here with us because that’s the focus of this podcast is to provide a resources of community and training to make the world a better place, a little bit better than we found it.
That’s the very small goal that we have but we do feel that it’s worth doing and that it’s possible.
Producing TRP has been a wonderful time for me, and also a very painful, burdensome time as well.
Part of the work as I conceive it, as The Republican Professor, is to do work that others don't see fit to do. And then, I try, at least, to share some of that work with any who will receive it. Receiving it requires some work on the part of the receiver, just as a good class does. (Part of the reason I titled the project with the word Professor in it, as this is the normative role of the professor--I guide, but I do not do the work for you. I help show you where to "lift" or "run", and for how long. And I'm here to encourage it).
As we lead up to the anniversary of January 6th, 2021, let me suggest where to "run," what to "lift."
The most fruitful thing you could do is watch, for free (all you need is a valid email address until January 6th, 2024) The Epoch Times one hour and forty four minute in depth reporting. That's your first priority if you want to see it for free. If you have a subscription already, then don't worry about the free thing.
I'll give you an Anti-Trump source that will pair very nicely with that video.
If you're trained well, as I am, you know that the other side always makes mistakes. Big ones. You have to know where they are. As The Republican Professor, one of my jobs is to delve into this unsavory work , wade into the swamp for a long time, like a Navy SEAL eating bugs and peeing on myself for days, so that I can get something that they forgot about, or that they don't want you to see. They don’t want you to remember.
There is a vehemently anti-Trump podcast, a scholarly podcast, that, you know, on the surface is non-partisan and prim and proper and methodologically sound and all of that foo foo stuff that hides, or attempts to hide, Democrat indoctrination, grade inflation plantation systemic bias. I'm not saying this podcast doesn't ever do good work, or that it's totally corrupt. I'm not saying that. The truth is always more complicated than that.
But this podcast did an episode recorded on the 7th, published on January 8th, 2021. And I caught it in my net, because that's what I do. I cast a wide net and I pay close attention. And I'm finally telling you about it because I half thought they'd take it down later.
The podcast is called "Lawfare."
It's one of them that started under Obama and originally dealt nearly exclusively with the terrorists and such under the War on Terror. It has since expanded. I started this podcast at the very beginning.
Anyway , their January 6th one isn't bad to listen to either, as they take in in real time the events of that day. When I listened to it, I kept track of how exactly they were describing it, what words, exactly, they were using, and what exact evidence and reasoning they were using (or not using). I'm going to leave that there for now because it gets into other issues outside the immediate scope of this post.
Their January 8th episode from 2021 is entirely about the security of the Capitol building, or...ahem...the lack thereof that day. And like I said, I am surprised they haven't taken the episode down. It was a real time reflection, by anti-Trump security experts, of (1) the resources available, (2) and the lack of deployment of those resources. The Capitol police are not the same as the DC police. DC is a major city, as you know, and covers many many many times more of an area as the relatively tiny Capitol. Yet the Capitol has the same resources a a major city for security. And those resources are not under the control of the President. (A very important point).
Your job, if you want it, is to experience the minor discomfort of listening to it in its entirety. January 8, 2021, the anti-Trump Lawfare podcast called "Who Let the Barbarians Through the Gates.”

So you have a nice pairing there on a vexing and important issue as we move forward into the future and try to make the world a little bit better than we found it — a goal I think is worth doing and that is possible.
Luke, for TRP
Thanks for being hopeful, Luke.
The question begged from absorbing both of these is where is the leadership? President Trump offered the National Guard to Nancy Pelosi beforehand. She refused. I want to know why they did not anticipate this happening and to be prepared. So much failure. My gut from the beginning has been it was a set up, a trap, to make President Trump look bad. And to only offer snippets to reinforce that view. Where is leadership?
